What Causes Emotional Eating?

Stress from work, financial worries, family problems, health issues and relationship struggles can cause a person to binge on food for comfort. This issue can affect men and women. However, studies have shown that women tend to do it more than men.

For many people, negative emotions such as anger and sadness leave an empty void. That is why they turn to food for that feeling of false fullness. Many people might even not be aware of it. Next time you feel the urge to eat, resist it. Instead, try some yoga or meditation. You can also try lighting scented candles, listening to music or taking a bath.
